Operation Clean Slate 2010
from the Bytestyle.tv Action Center
Our Objective:
It's time to clean house in Congress, and replace our old-school, do-nothing, so-called "representatives" with a new generation of political leadership that will stand up to the entrenched failures of our political system (like 1500-page bills that are passed without being read) and fight for our rights, freedom & prosperity as individuals.
HOW HAVE THEY SOLD US OUT?
1. They've passed bills without reading them (see one example here)
2. They cater to special interest groups rather than their constituents (see one example here)
3. They've gotten lazy (this one's obvious)
4. They've forgotten they work for us
5. Washington changed them instead of the other way around
ERGO... They're fired!

Spread the Word
The only way this works is if enough people are willing to take action. We need to let new people know what's going on, so we're not just preaching to the choir.
Make this happen by blogging, tweeting, facebooking, emailing, having a dinner party, wearing a conversation-starting shirt etc.

I'm being told I'm "tilting at windmills" by trying to kick out the people who have failed us... but this time, the WINDMILL IS GONNA LOSE.

Kokesh's campaign contacted me, asking for an endorsement, and saying he would be willing to be interviewed. So, I wrote back with my one question: "Do you support the absolute right of everyone to own and to carry any type of weapon they wish, everywhere they go, in any manner they see fit, without asking permission from anyone, ever?"
He never answered. That sets off alarm bells in my head.

When did you ask (he only announced his run a few days ago)?
The following is from his website:
"We have a right to self-defense. The founders wrote the Second Amendment to protect this right by specifically enumerating the right to, “keep and bear arms.” Our leadership has forgotten why this was so crucial to our founders. Our right to self-defense has been slowly eroded by unconstitutional laws."
That was all I could find on that issue there, but his site, while it looks nice, is sparse. Much like Ron Paul's was in the beginning.
I'm not defending Kokesh, since I don't know him all that well, but I've seen him speak and know many who are supporting him.
What I know of the guy is that he's got to be 1,000 times better than the other 200 chumps we have in the Senate now.
I've given up on making "change" in Washington, so I don't follow candidates very closely.
As far as I'm concerned, we're going to have to have a real, full, total, all-50-states-involved Revolution in this country before any real change happens.

They contacted me on June 2nd. I still have the email in my "politics" folder, so I checked the date on it.
Perhaps they thought the question was too radical. I still think it is the most important one for discovering exactly what a politician thinks of "the people".

You're right, it is a good yardstick question.
